RESONATE WITH 2010 IDA EXPO AUDIENCE
Lawrenceville, GA - Albany Door Systems garnered the attention of 2010 International Door Association (IDA) Expo attendees on several levels this year, resulting in the company's most successful exhibition in its eight years at the show.
Held April 21-24 in Las Vegas, Nevada, the IDA Expo was one of the first industry events to occur on the cusp of the recovering economy, and Albany Door Systems wanted to capitalize on that opportunity. The company built its booth theme around its long history and depth of experience in the industry to give dealers confidence in the company's financial health and product performance. An in-booth presentation, given by spokesperson Karri Lucas, featured information about Albany Door Systems' 42-year record of success, its global presence, and the longevity of its products.
"We designed the first high-speed door in 1968 and received a patent for the Albany Rapid Roll Door in 1972. As a division of a Fortune 500 company, our global footprint allows us to hire the best talent from around the world to build, sell, and support our products," Lucas told the audiences of 50 to 75 dealers three times a day.
To generate even more interest and excitement, at the end of each presentation, the company gave away an Apple iPad to a lucky listener. The iPad winners were Brian Spencer, Crawford Door Sales; Roy Mills, Creative Door; Jim Deiter, Utah Basin OHD; Guillermo Nava Aguayo, Artipac; Sheldon McPhearson, On Track Door Systems; and Abe Enns, Hanover Door.
"The door industry has experienced many changes over the past year. It is important for our dealers to understand that Albany Door Systems is a rock solid company that will be around for a long time," says Craig Jones, vice president of sales and marketing. "We are in a perfect position to help our dealers take advantage of the economic recovery, and the IDA show was a perfect venue for us to share this message," he adds.
In addition to the presentations and the Apple iPad giveaway, the company showcased full-size, working versions of two of its most innovative doors; the ThermaChill and the UltraSecure 3000. Dealers swarmed to the booth to see both doors up close and in action.
Still in the pilot phase, the ThermaChill is the latest in a long line of durable, high-speed doors. It is ideal for high-traffic cold storage applications. "With its insulated panel, temperature differentials for door openings, and opening speeds up to 100 inches per second, ThermaChill helps keep cold storage environments stable. The UltaSecure 3000 high-speed metal door is designed for commercial and high security applications. It actually meets Florida's high-velocity hurricane zone requirements, so it is built to last," says Weiland.
